I think I'm an iPad person, and would use them best to teach with. I would like to use them for small group instruction, so a set of 6 would be ideal.
Activities i would like to use my iPads for would be for math. I would like to use the Show Me App, so the students can work collaboratively with each other. The children love to come up and show what they know, rather than just listening to me.
I would also like to use them during my reading interventions. At this time, I only have access to iPads for 15min a day.
My personal opinion is that iPads are more user friendly for the age I teach, and the apps I currently use, and those I'm trying to incorporate.
Sounds like you have some very good reasons to use iPads. Small group instruction is a great idea. And 6 iPads could provide a solid foundation for a digital daily 5.
